Marley Moves provides containerised storage for customers across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, collected and re-delivered by our removals team. We use timber storage crates for smaller volumes and larger containers for bigger loads, with the amount of space confirmed from the volume being stored rather than guessed from bedroom count. Storage can be quoted alongside your removal, whether you need a short gap between completion dates or a longer stay while downsizing, renovating or relocating. Access is arranged through Marley Moves by appointment. Our goods-in-transit cover applies while we are moving your belongings; insurance for goods while they are stored is not included and should be arranged separately.

What's included
We use timber crates for smaller volumes and larger containers for bigger loads. The number and size required are confirmed from the volume being stored so you can see the proposed storage arrangement before committing.
Storage access is arranged through Marley Moves by appointment and subject to availability. If you need frequent walk-in access to your belongings, conventional self-storage is likely to suit you better.
Containers are billed per calendar month in advance, and a final part month is charged in full rather than pro-rata. Crates have a minimum stay charged at the start, then run on a daily rate. Your rate and any minimum are set on your quote, and anything outstanding is settled before your belongings are released.
Our removals team can collect your belongings and place them into storage as part of the same booking, then arrange re-delivery when you are ready. That keeps the removal and storage logistics with one company.
Access is by appointment and subject to availability, so please give us as much notice as you can. Container access carries no handling charge. For crates, each movement in, out, or open for access is charged, and the rate is shown on your quote before you commit.
Our £2.5m public liability and £50,000 goods-in-transit cover apply while we are moving your belongings. Cover for goods sitting in storage is not included, so please arrange your own before your storage starts. Most contents insurers will quote for it, and we will point you in the right direction if you want a hand.
Who it's for
Containerised storage works differently from self-storage: you do not drive to a unit whenever you like. Marley Moves collects your belongings, stores them in containers, and re-delivers them when you are ready. Access while stored is arranged through us by appointment and is subject to availability. If you know you will need particular items during the storage period, tell us before packing so they can be positioned with that in mind. If frequent or same-day self-access is important, a conventional self-storage facility is likely to be a better fit.

We confirm the volume at survey or from the information you provide, then show the storage charge and the collection or re-delivery cost in writing before you commit. Cover for goods while they are sitting in storage is not included, so please arrange suitable storage insurance separately.
Our standard storage is containerised storage using timber containers kept under cover. It is not a specialist temperature- or humidity-controlled environment, and we do not describe it as climate controlled. That distinction matters for fine art, antiques, musical instruments, sensitive electronics, important archives and other belongings that may need controlled environmental conditions. If an item requires a defined temperature or humidity range, use a specialist climate-controlled facility; Marley Moves can still help with collection and delivery where appropriate.
Packing can be added to a storage booking when required. We use suitable boxes, packing paper, protective wrap, blankets and labels for the items being stored. Because Marley Moves can handle both the packing and the collection, you can keep the move and storage preparation under one booking rather than coordinating separate packing and removal teams.

Where customers most often ask us for storage. Each town uses the same containerised-storage model and quoting approach; collection and re-delivery depend on route, access and volume.
For Dorchester and DT1 storage, Marley Moves can collect as part of a house move, clearance, downsizing or renovation and re-deliver when the next address is ready. Dorchester is served from our Shaftesbury base, so the collection and return legs are priced with the route, access and stored volume shown on the written quote.
Removals in Dorchester →For Yeovil storage across BA20, BA21 and BA22, we collect from the property, place the agreed contents into containerised storage and arrange re-delivery when required. Storage can be combined with a house removal, packing service or clearance; collection and return are quoted according to the route, access and volume.
Removals in Yeovil →For Salisbury storage across SP1 and SP2, we can collect the contents of a move, clearance or renovation and hold them in containerised storage until re-delivery is needed. Central Salisbury and Cathedral Close addresses can require more access planning than outer residential areas, so vehicle access and collection timing are confirmed as part of the quote.
Removals in Salisbury →For Bournemouth storage, Marley Moves can collect from a house move, flat move, clearance or downsizing job and re-deliver when the next property is ready. Bournemouth routes are planned from our Shaftesbury base, with collection and return priced according to the address, access and volume rather than a generic town rate.
Removals in Bournemouth →For Weymouth storage across DT3 and DT4, we can collect belongings as part of a removal, packing job, clearance or renovation and re-deliver them when required. Seasonal traffic and central or seafront access can affect the collection plan, so the route, vehicle and access are confirmed before the written quote.

Move day: we load at your address and take the agreed contents into containerised storage. Where packing is part of the booking, we can prepare and protect the items before they are stored.
Your belongings are placed into the agreed crate or container and stored until you ask for re-delivery or arrange access. Storage charges and any minimum term are set out on your written quote. Insurance for the goods while stored is not included, so please arrange suitable cover separately.
Tell us when and where the contents need to go. Collection and delivery are by appointment and subject to availability, so please give us as much notice as you can. We arrange the container or crates, load the truck and deliver to the agreed address.

If we ever agree to insure something for you, we will confirm that to you in writing.
Crates have a 28-day minimum, charged at the start, then run on a daily rate. Containers are billed per calendar month, and a final part month is charged in full rather than pro-rata. There is no maximum. Short-term storage between completion dates is one of our most common scenarios, and longer stays are quoted individually, so tell us roughly how long you need and the rate is fixed on your quote before you commit.
Self-storage suits you if you need daily access, want to drive your own van to the unit, and prefer per-square-foot pricing. Containerised storage (us) suits you if you're storing the contents of a home between moves, don't need daily access, and want the convenience of one company doing the removal AND the storage. As a rule, containerised storage fits whole-home volumes and self-storage fits single rooms or small loads you need to reach often. If self-storage is the better fit for what you are storing, we will say so.

Crockery and ornaments are wrapped carefully, boxes are labelled by room, and furniture is protected for the journey. Many customers ask us to handle the kitchen, glassware and other fragile items while they pack books, clothes and bedding themselves. Full packing is available when time is tight or when a home contains a larger volume of fragile, antique or specialist items. Packing is quoted clearly as part of, or alongside, the removal.

Probate and estate clearances are planned around the executor’s or solicitor’s timetable, with photographs and family-kept items handled carefully. Where a visit is useful, we inspect the property before quoting so the written price reflects the access, volume and agreed scope.
