Military removals around Salisbury Plain, Warminster and Yeovilton
From our Shaftesbury base, our regular service area puts us within practical reach of military households around Salisbury Plain and Warminster in Wiltshire and service families around RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset. We can move a household between local addresses, onward to another UK posting, or back into Dorset, Somerset or Wiltshire. These are ordinary privately arranged removals unless a separate Defence commissioning route applies; we do not imply an office on a military base or an official MOD affiliation.
Military removals for postings and Service Family Accommodation
A military move often has less control over the timetable than an ordinary house move. Posting dates, march-out dates, key handovers and the availability of the next property can all affect when the household needs to move. We plan the removal around the dates you actually have, identify anything that needs to travel separately, and build in storage where the two ends do not line up.

Many service-family moves are long distance rather than local. Marley Moves can collect across our Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire service area and move a household anywhere in the UK, or collect elsewhere in the UK for a move back into our area. Long-distance, packing and storage are treated as parts of one relocation rather than separate bookings.
Packing and storage for military relocations
If you must leave one property before the next home is ready, belongings can be moved into containerised storage and re-delivered when you have access. Full or part packing can also be included where you need help preparing the home. Storage insurance for goods while they are sitting in storage is not included by Marley Moves and should be arranged separately; our goods-in-transit cover applies while we are moving the belongings.
MOD-funded and privately arranged military removals
MOD policy can provide publicly funded movement and storage of personal effects in qualifying circumstances, and those moves may have to follow Defence contractor and entitlement rules. If your move is being funded or arranged through Defence, confirm the process before committing to a private mover. Marley Moves can quote directly where you are arranging the move yourself, and we will not imply MOD-approved or contracted status where it does not exist.

Full or part, proper materials, careful crew
Marley Moves provides full and part packing services across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, using a methodical room-by-room approach and appropriate protective materials. Crockery and ornaments are wrapped carefully, boxes are labelled by room, and furniture is protected for the journey. Many customers ask us to handle the kitchen, glassware and other fragile items while they pack books, clothes and bedding themselves. Full packing is available when time is tight or when a home contains a larger volume of fragile, antique or specialist items. Packing is quoted clearly as part of, or alongside, the removal.

Probate and estate clearances are planned around the executor’s or solicitor’s timetable, with photographs and family-kept items handled carefully. Where a visit is useful, we inspect the property before quoting so the written price reflects the access, volume and agreed scope. Many clearances are completed in a day; larger properties can take longer.
