House removals, packing, containerised storage, sensitive house clearances, piano removals, specialist removals, military moves, council and housing-association relocations, UK-wide long-distance moves and man-and-van work are all handled by Marley Moves from our Shaftesbury base. The services overlap where a move needs them to: a military posting can combine a house move, packing, long-distance transport and storage, while a resident decant can combine packing, removal, storage and re-delivery.
Most moves need more than one service, so we can quote the relevant parts together with one written plan and one point of contact. Our in-house team carries out the move rather than handing the job to another removal company. Written quotes set out the agreed scope, with our public-liability and goods-in-transit cover explained alongside the booking.
House Removals
Marley Moves is a family-run Dorset house removals company based at our Shaftesbury, SP7 yard. We move studios through to larger family homes across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, with UK-wide long-distance removals from Dorset. You deal with our in-house team from quote and survey through to moving day, rather than being passed to a subcontractor. Most local work clusters around Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Sherborne and Warminster, with regular runs to Salisbury, Bath, Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas. We focus on clear written pricing, careful handling and planning the access before the day.

House Clearances
Marley Moves provides sensitive house clearances across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire for probate, downsizing, end-of-tenancy, post-bereavement and hoarder-property situations. We agree what must be kept before work begins, separate usable items for donation where appropriate, recycle what we can and use licensed disposal routes for genuine waste. Probate and estate clearances are planned around the executor’s or solicitor’s timetable, with photographs and family-kept items handled carefully. Where a visit is useful, we inspect the property before quoting so the written price reflects the access, volume and agreed scope. Many clearances are completed in a day; larger properties can take longer.

Storage
Marley Moves provides containerised storage for customers across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, collected and re-delivered by our removals team. We use timber storage crates for smaller volumes and larger containers for bigger loads, with the amount of space confirmed from the volume being stored rather than guessed from bedroom count. Storage can be quoted alongside your removal, whether you need a short gap between completion dates or a longer stay while downsizing, renovating or relocating. Access is arranged through Marley Moves by appointment. Our goods-in-transit cover applies while we are moving your belongings; insurance for goods while they are stored is not included and should be arranged separately.

Packing
Marley Moves provides full and part packing services across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, using a methodical room-by-room approach and appropriate protective materials. Crockery and ornaments are wrapped carefully, boxes are labelled by room, and furniture is protected for the journey. Many customers ask us to handle the kitchen, glassware and other fragile items while they pack books, clothes and bedding themselves. Full packing is available when time is tight or when a home contains a larger volume of fragile, antique or specialist items. Packing is quoted clearly as part of, or alongside, the removal.

Long Distance
Marley Moves runs long-distance UK removals from Dorset to anywhere in the country. London, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cornwall, the Lake District, Wales, all routes we drive several times a year. One truck, one route, one crew that sleeps overnight if the destination is too far for a single working day. Most single-day routes (Dorset to London / Bristol / the South West) complete in a long working day. Further destinations (Manchester, Edinburgh, Cornwall extremes) become 2-day moves with the crew overnighting at the destination so the same hands unload the next morning. Free pre-move survey for any 3-bed-plus home, video or in-person depending on access at the loading end. We also do the reverse, collecting from London / the Midlands / the North and delivering to Dorset, Somerset or Wiltshire, and combine outbound + inbound jobs where possible to keep the pricing competitive.

Man & Van
Marley Moves runs a real man and van service across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire from our Shaftesbury yard, with the same in-house crew that handles our full house removals. We're not a one-man-one-van outfit: every Marley man-and-van booking comes with proper insurance (£2.5m public liability, £50k goods in transit per load), proper kit (blankets, straps, dollies, door protectors), and a real company behind it if anything goes sideways. Single rooms, studios, IKEA hauls, single-item collections, small office moves, between-flat shifts, anything that doesn't need the multi-van treatment of a full house removal. Single-item runs and studio or single-room moves are each quoted as their own fixed price, every quote written before move day. The number we send you is the number you pay.

Specialist Removals
Marley Moves provides specialist removals across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire for items that need more planning or protection than a standard household load. That can include antique furniture, framed art, sculpture, exhibition pieces and other fragile or awkward belongings. We assess the item, access and destination first, then choose the crew size, handling method and protective materials to suit the job. Where an item's value needs insurance beyond our standard goods-in-transit limit, we flag that before the move so appropriate cover can be confirmed. Pianos are handled through our dedicated piano-removals service.

Marley Moves provides dedicated piano removals across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, either as a standalone move or as part of a wider house removal. Uprights, baby grands and full grands need different handling, access planning and crew sizes, so every piano job starts with a survey of the instrument, route and destination. We use appropriate piano-moving equipment and plan stairs, gradients, tight turns and vehicle access before the move. For pianos travelling further across the UK, the job can be combined with our long-distance removals service while the piano-removals page remains the specialist service for the instrument itself.

Most people who ring us at short notice did not leave it late on purpose. A completion date shifts, a notice period runs out, keys have to go back on a deadline, or the firm that was booked stops answering the phone. Marley Moves keeps one crew back from the fixed diary for exactly this, which is what makes same-week and sometimes same-day work possible across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. What we will not do is say yes and work out the details later. You get a straight answer on whether the date is possible, then a fixed price in writing within the hour, and if we cannot cover it we will tell you that quickly enough to be useful.

A student move is one room, not one house, and it does not fit either end of the usual removals market. A car boot will not take it and a full house removal is more than you need. Marley Moves runs these as a small van and a two-person crew, at a fixed price agreed in writing before the day, across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire and back up the country when term ends. Third-floor rooms with no lift, twenty-minute loading windows outside halls and a September fortnight when everyone is moving at once are the normal conditions rather than the awkward exceptions.

Marley Moves provides council and housing association removals, resident decants and managed moves across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. We work with residents, housing teams and supported-housing providers on temporary decants during repairs or refurbishment, permanent transfers, rightsizing and downsizing, moves between tenancies and temporary accommodation, plus packing and storage where needed. From our Shaftesbury base we cover North Dorset, South Somerset and south and west Wiltshire, with regular routes through Gillingham, Sherborne, Yeovil, Warminster, Salisbury, Dorchester, Bournemouth and Poole. We can quote one-off resident moves and discuss purchase orders, frameworks or tender opportunities. We do not claim approved-supplier or contracted status for any council or housing association unless Marley Moves has actually been appointed.

Marley Moves provides military and Armed Forces removals for serving personnel, service families and veterans across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, with UK-wide relocations from our Shaftesbury base. We help with privately arranged moves between postings, moves into or out of Service Family Accommodation, relocations from privately owned or rented homes, service-leaver moves and storage when accommodation dates do not line up. Packing, house removals, storage and long-distance transport can be combined under one written plan. Our regular local coverage includes Salisbury and Warminster in Wiltshire and South Somerset around Yeovil and RNAS Yeovilton. If Defence is funding or arranging the move, separate entitlement and contractor rules may apply, so confirm the required process before booking a private mover. Marley Moves does not claim MOD-contracted or approved-provider status unless a specific appointment is actually in place.
