The A361 does not come through the town at all, it is the bypass round the south and east. Two bridges are worth knowing. Wallbridge on the A362 is signed at fifteen feet nine, which is clear for anything we run. Coalash Lane, north west of the town on the way out towards Mells and Whatley, goes under the railway at twelve feet nine, and that is lower than the roof of a good many Luton vans, so it is worth checking before the day rather than at the bridge. In the centre, Catherine Hill and Stony Street are cobbled and one way and Cheap Street takes no vehicles, so the practical answer on most of them is a 3.5-tonne Luton or a pair of smaller vans shuttling from the level ground below. We usually stand the big vehicle on the Cattle Market car park on Bridge Street, which Somerset Council lists, along with Badcox on Nunney Road, as having no height restriction. Bath Road, Christchurch Street West, Lock's Hill and the Park Road side all take a 7.5-tonne without trouble.
