Completion dates do not always line up. Here are the situations where temporary storage can make a staggered house move easier to manage.

When temporary storage makes sense
Common examples include a sale completing before a purchase, renovation work continuing after you leave, downsizing before deciding what to keep, or a delayed onward move. In each case, storage creates a buffer between collection and final delivery.
Plan the storage as part of the move
The useful question is not simply how much storage you need, but what needs to remain accessible and what can stay packed until delivery. Items needed immediately at the new property should be separated before collection so they do not disappear into the stored load.
